Attorney James Betzold

Attorney James Betzold is a dedicated immigration lawyer with a passion for helping families reunite and individuals achieve their dreams of living in the United States.

With extensive experience in all areas of immigration law, Attorney Betzold has successfully represented hundreds of clients in family-based immigration, employment visas, deportation defense, asylum cases, and naturalization proceedings.

Understanding that behind every case is a person with hopes, dreams, and loved ones, Attorney Betzold provides compassionate, personalized legal representation. He takes the time to understand each client's unique situation and develops tailored strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Education & Credentials

Attorney James Betzold graduated from the University of Michigan in 2007 and then studied law at Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2009. He entered private practice and has been practicing immigration law since 2009. Attorney Betzold is an entrepreneur and with his wife Angela have built a modern law firm that uses technology to help their clients and maintain a high level of communication. Attorney Betzold has also trained attorneys in a number of legal and technological areas. Attorney Betzold is a member of AILA and has spoken on panels at local and national immigration lawyer conferences.

Angela Betzold has been the office manager, paralegal and business manager for Betzold Law, Brevort River Studios and Bella Legal Assistants for the last 10 years. While managing Betzold Law, she has grown the law firm by recruiting, training and managing an international team of paralegals who assist Betzold Law and other law firms through Bella Legal Assistants. As an immigrant from Colombia, Angela knows first hand the struggles, concerns and challenges that immigrants feel in working toward their American Dream.
